This birthday weekend is off to a good start! Last night we stopped in at Bridgeport Brewery in the Pearl District for dessert. The best thing to get there is their warm cookie pie.
You wouldn’t necessarily think a brew pub would have great dessert, but this is a great choice if you are looking for a treat! Served in a mini cast iron skillet, this warm chocolate chip cookie is pretty incredible. It’s served incredibly warm – like so hot that the Tillamook vanilla ice cream that tops the cookie actually was boiling when it was placed in front of us. So take my advice and while you will be tempted to bite into this cookie pie as soon as it hits the table, wait a minute or two so you don’t burn your tongue.
The cookie is thin and just barely cooked with crispy edges. I would say request an extra scoop of ice cream since it a) melts pretty quickly and b) really is delicious with the cookie. My last recommendation, be sure to get your own. You won’t want to share and then the cookie will be gone way too quickly!

While married to a bakery blogger, I’m not into dessert myself.
Bridgeport’s cookie crumble is an exception. I said we should go there after dinner at Jake’s and it was a good call. It’s not gooey, but crumbly. And soooo good. I want some right now!!!
Or Taco Bell. I could use some fourth meal.
