Happy two-week-inversary to The Honey Pot!
This fantastic pie food cart has now added a storefront in North Portland (the food cart will remain open!). With a menu full of sweet and savory pies, you can have pie for every meal.
I was graciously invited to the pre-opening party for The Honey Pot and got to check out their new space and experience several delicious savory and sweet pies.

The killer Pendleton pies: Dark chocolate and California pecan pie with Pendleton Whiskey custard baked in a chocolate shortbread shell
Everyone always says that you need to start your day off with breakfast. “Most important meal of the day!” So instead of skipping breakfast or grabbing a packaged snack bar, swing into The Honey Pot’s adorably decorated shop and pick up a latte or a cold brew Extracto coffee and one of their homemade Pop Tarts. Yes, you read that right. Homemade Pop Tarts. Amazing.
Ok so now it’s the middle of the day and you are being told to “eat something healthy,” like something with protein and vegetables. So boring, you think? Not if you’re at The Honey Pot. Pick up the Aristocrat. It is filled with a ground pork sausage mixed with chopped spinach, sage, garlic and parmesan cheese, all rolled into a puff pastry.
Get a few of these mini pies and serve with a simple green salad, and you’ve got dinner. No hassle and completely delicious.
And then how do you finish off your day of pie? With one of my favorites – the Lemon Heaven, a lemon meringue pie in a vanilla shortbread crust. The tanginess of the lemon curd was complemented perfectly by the sugary meringue, which was lightly bruleed and almost reminiscent of a marshmallow.
See? A day of just pie is totally doable! You don’t even have to repeat options…unless you really want to.
Congratulations again to Mary Sheridan, pie baker extraordinaire and creator of The Honey Pot cart and her co-owners Regan and Kelly Delaney! Can’t wait to stop back in and eat more pie.

Enjoying pie, drinks and a great new space for The Honey Pot!

One of the best things about the new storefront is that they are open early and close late. I am very guilty of wanting pie randomly at 8pm and now, I can just take a little jaunt across the river and fill all my pie needs.
