Ok, I know, I promised this post literally months ago. It has now been quite some time since Brice and I had this incredible meal at Restaurant Beck. (Where did those months go?! How is it July?!) If you’re planning an outing to the Oregon coast this summer (or really anytime!), I 110% recommend making sure you make a stop here. I was extremely impressed.
Restaurant Beck is set right off Hwy 101 in between Lincoln City and Newport, so it is somewhat a trek to get out there. And while the hotel it is in looks incredible, it is also pricey. The nearby sleepy town of Depoe Bay doesn’t have a lot going on otherwise. All that being said, getting dinner at Restaurant Beck requires a bit of planning.
After a year or so of talking about going and continually hearing so many great things about it, we finally decided to make it happen, in conjunction with a weekend getaway to our favorite beach B&B in Florence.
When I first walked in, I was blown away by the stunning view. Situated right on Whale Cove with giant windows, nearly every seat in the restaurant looks out at the crashing waves. Whether you go in winter to see some ocean storms like we did, or in the summer with blue skies, it is sure to be gorgeous.
Secondly, the service was spectacular. I feel like the more frequently I go to places with mediocre service, the more impressed I am when I enjoy dinner somewhere where the servers are attentive yet not bothersome, friendly and accommodating.
Most importantly, the food! With all the hype about this restaurant that I had pretty high expectations going in. All the expectations were exceeded. To get the full experience, we went with the Chef’s Tasting which was exquisite. As it has been a while since we were there, I sadly don’t remember all of the ingredients in the dishes. But just believe me that they were all excellent. Brice and I couldn’t agree on a favorite.
It was clear how much pride Chef Justin Wills puts into his cooking. Everything was plated beautifully. The menu regularly changes with the seasons and what’s inspiring him. We were treated to an incredible meal of unique and flavorful dishes, made with freshly caught fish and local produce.
If only Depoe Bay was closer, I would be there for any special occasion or celebration. Alas, I’ll just have the make the trek back to the coast. But trust me, it is worth it.

So excited to read your post on Beck. I’ve been wanting to try them out for years! We have a place in Pacific City, so we’re at the coast quite often… We need to plan our visit to try out this amazing food (and the views)!!!

We usually stay in Lincoln City, so this wouldn’t be a trek for us! Thanks for the rec. I never know where to eat at the coast!

I have always wondered if this place was good. So glad to get the recommendation, I take a girls trip to Lincoln City a few times a year and this would be a great spot for us.
