The holidays are almost here! For me, I absolutely love Thanksgiving. My family never did anything big for other holidays but Thanksgiving was always the day of cooking, eating and celebrating, what’s not to like about that?! This year, I’ll be stuffing my face at my parents’ house in Sherwood with a handful of family members and lots of good friends. Traditional cornbread stuffing, chocolate bourbon pecan pie and Thanksgiving trivia games are on my list of things to bring. What is your plan?
To make any great meal, you need really good ingredients. Garbage in, garbage out, they say in business. Okay, I admit that doesn’t sound as good in relation to food. But the concept still applies. Right?! Humor me, and say yes.
So for this #ThursdayToursPDX, Meredith and I have got Brooke Adams and Elizabeth Roberts of the killer Little Green Pickle / Feast Portland team to provide their favorite places to shop. These two ladies are both excellent cooks and have impressive baking creds – Elizabeth is a former pastry chef for amazing places like Little T Baker and Brooke’s husband is a talented pastry chef himself. So you know they’ll have good recommendations of the best Markets + Makers.
Plus both are sweethearts who know how to have a good time. My favorite Feast memories involve these two, like karaoking with Brooke or hitting the dance floor with Elizabeth.
Enjoy, check out Martha Chartreuse for more then go get shopping!

Markets + Makers by Elizabeth Roberts:
Foster & Dobbs
This is my go-to neighborhood store when I am in need of delicious cheeses and/or sweet treats. It’s also a great place to pick-up a holiday gift for anyone who enjoys food.
Little T Baker
This is my go-to bakery for ordering holiday breads (or baked goods and artisanal sandwiches year round), just be sure to check their website for holiday order deadlines. You could literally order anything off of Tim’s menu and never be disappointed.
New Seasons, Whole Foods and Fred Meyer
These are my go-to grocery stores for everyday staples and for specific ingredients to bake with like, almond flour, various sugars and such. I like specific items only found at each store.
Tumbleweed Farm CSA (Park Dale)
I joined Andrea and Taylor’s CSA this year and split a share with a good friend (Andrea’s sister!). The CSA season just ended, but Andrea’s recipes are truly incredible and I find myself heading back to her blog on a weekly basis. Her vegetable-centric recipes would make any holiday side the dish that everyone will remember!

When I was pregnant, I could not get enough of the Little T baguettes. Unfortunately I can’t eat gluten anymore, but if I could – that would be the first thing I would get.

The bread from Little T Baker looks so yummy!
