After my rambling about Saturday’s Naked Bike Ride, I figured I’d actually post about the delicious Dessert Dim Sum Yum Yum event at Pix Patisserie.
This event is such a clever idea and was a lot of fun. Just like a regular Dim Sum restaurant, servers will come around with carts filled with 2-3 bite-sized desserts that you can happily accept or pass on. Plus, everything came with optional sherry or wine pairings.
For our first pass-through, we tried a mini Royale, their incredible chocolate mousse with a hazelnut praline filling and dacquoise cake base. The Dim Sum Yum Yum version was topped with a small slice of brie, and paired with a sweet sherry.
Our second “course” included an innovative plating of bacon creme brulee – it was placed inside an egg shell. The creme brulee had really great flavor, especially topped with real bacon pieces, but it seemed like it didn’t set completely as it was a little too liquidy. But I’ll give them points for creativity.
Our dim sum experience continued with:
- Whiskey Flavored Macarons, paired with whiskey of course.
- The Incognito, a lemon mousse cheesecake with a ginger streusel and raspberries – Super light and perfectly tart. This is a great dessert for a hot summer day.
- The Pixie – a pistachio bar with raspberry jam and almond paste.
- Creme Brulee Filled Strawberry – probably one of my favorites. Once again, points for creativity, but this time really well executed.
Hopefully the Dim Sum Yum Yum event will be back soon. It was a great way to try a large variety of Pix’s incredible desserts and overall a fun, unique experience.
Pix has all sorts of other fun events to keep you full and happy all summer long. Like their Wednesday night Movies at Dusk events – just bring a blanket and watch great classics like The Breakfast Club (8/21) or Amelie (7/24) in their outdoor courtyard. Or Flight Night every Monday, featuring a themed flight of wine.

OMG! I went to this too! Seems like I got a different dessert selection from you though. What time did you go?

I think we were there about 8:30 or 9pm. We were sitting outside! Too bad we didn’t see each other. It was definitely a fun event!
