While I’m all about the fancy dinners with multiple courses, bottles of wine and table service (I mean, who doesn’t on occasion?!), that can only happen every so often. Most nights during the week, especially with this new crazy busy job, I just want something casual for dinner if I’m too lazy to cook for myself.

That is part 1 of why I was so excited about CHKCHK opening up just a few blocks from my place. A fast-casual, easy, fun restaurant with great food?! Heck yes. Seriously, the powers that be in the Pearl District, we need more places like that. No more $80 a person restaurants. We have enough. Definitely no more window shade stores. I start almost every morning with a mug of Smith Tea, preferably Kandy black tea or Big Hibiscus, so I am a big fan of this local teamaker. But I hadn’t been over to their new tasting room, headquarters and production facility off Water Ave until a few weeks ago.

Once you walk in, you can tell you are in a tea facility. Right behind the ordering counter, you can see the tea lab and production line in action, packaging up the teas I drink at home. Continue Reading...

Hello! Happy Thursday to you. Did you enjoy the long weekend? I sure was excited to find out that I got an extra day – getting MLK day off is a new thing for Intel so it was a fun surprise.

I celebrated my friend Meredith‘s birthday at Muse Wine Bar on NW 23rd – I’m totally digging this place, so check it out if you haven’t been there yet!
