Eating My Way Thru Atlanta

I traveled a few weekends ago a ways across the country over to Atlanta, to visit one of my longest friends, Laura. She is soon turning the big 3-0 so her sister, one of our other good friends and I thought a big celebration was in order. Since she lives in Georgia and we hadn’t gone to visit her yet, we thought seeing her home turf was a perfect fit.

Holy cow, where did this year go?! I can’t believe it is May and Feast 2015 is just around the corner! I seriously have been counting down since approximately Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 4pm when events ended and my stomach ache from eating and drinking too much subsided.

Make yourself a sticky note, add a Outlook calendar meeting hit, make an appointment in your iPhone, whatever you need to do, make sure you know tickets go on sale on May 15th at 9am! Trust me, they will go quickly! Especially those fancy dinners with big-name chefs and the marquee events, like Night Market. A couple of my girlfriends and I have had season tickets to the Broadway shows that come to Portland for the past few years. We have a great time tapping our toes to the tunes and debating which were our favorite musicals to date (the unanimous winner is the old-timey musical with a big tap-dancing number, Anything Goes – amazing!). Last month, Guys & Dolls came to town. Now, while I wasn’t a huge fan of it overall, I did find this one song, “A Bushel and a Peck,” performed by the character Miss Adelaide and her Chick Chick Chickedies, catchy and fun.
