8 months into the year and I’m finally feeling like I’m tackling all those goals I set out for 2015. Climb Mt St Helens? Check! It took us 8.5 hours but we did it. Learn how to sharpen my own knives? After a great class at Portland Knife House and finally trying it on my own knives, I think I had some success. My knives are now feeling loved. Balance? Ok, that still needs some work on occasion. But I am making more of an effort of not having an agenda, so I can cook, read, and especially this summer, have a casual evening at home. Sometimes the simple things are just the best.

Happy Thursday! Brice and I are currently gallivanting through the Pacific NW on our way to Victoria, B.C. to celebrate our 6th (!!) anniversary.
We had a nice stopover in Seattle last night then are visiting some cideries in Port Angeles before hopping on the ferry to cross the border. I’m excited to spend a long weekend in some cooler weather, exploring the beautiful city and of course eating and drinking through Victoria. If you have any recommendations of things to do or places to check out, please send recommendations my way!

Happy belated 4th of July to you all!
Between celebrating Independence Day and winning the Women’s World Cup, what a great few days for the U.S.! I started the weekend with a patriotic pub crawl through inner SE with some lovely friends. We visited Commons Brewery, Oso Market, Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon Winery, Base Camp Brewering and White Owl Social Club where we drank cold beverages, ate delicious snacks, and played a ridiculously fun scavenger hunt that included tasks like finding someone with the first name of a U.S. President and naming all 50 states.
