Well, after 6 weeks of adventures, I’m back at work… While that isn’t nearly as fun as frolicking around Europe, it is nice to be back home in Portland, back in my cozy bed and not living out of a suitcase (more to come on my sabbatical travels soon!). Plus, I’m back just in time for Feast! I can’t believe the four-day massive food fest begins in seven days. For foodie lovers like myself, it is like being a kid in a candy store all week.
One of the dishes from Feast 2014 still stands out in my mind. The dish? An incredible egg topped kimchi fried rice enjoyed at Brunch Village and made by LA’s EggSlut. Yes, that is truly their name. A tad outrageous, but their breakfast-inspired food is so mouthwatering, it works.
When in Vegas in June, I stood in line for almost an hour at their new location inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel, to try their notorious egg sandwiches served in fluffy brioche rolls. Seriously, look at these? INSANE.
So I’m extra thrilled that today’s #ThursdayToursPDX features favorites from EggSlut’s Chef Alvin himself! Over at Martha Chartreuse, Meredith interviewed the 2015 Brunch Village star Brad Farmerie of New York’s Public and Saxon + Parole, who made one delicious Turkish Egg. You don’t want to miss that.
See you at Brunch Village for more tasty treats like this?!

“Spam garlic fried rice and three sunny side up eggs would be my last meal. It reminds me of my youth.” <— YESSSS! This is my youth morning, noon, and night! And now I am craving it. What a fun interview!

Ha! I don’t know how I feel about spam but I love the idea of garlic fried rice and runny eggs. Yum. Can’t wait to see what Alvin brings this year.
