Yippee! Best week ever! Feast is here! I apologize in advance for ridiculous #FeastPDX posts taking over your Instagram feed.
Meredith and I are sharing our best tips on how to survive the week of eating and drinking for #ThursdayToursPDX. Whether you are attending just one event, or nearly all of them like me, you’ll like having these suggestions in your back pocket. Hope to see your smiling faces at the events!

#FeastYoSelf is my personal mantra (and hashtag) for Feast! Whether you are hitting Grand Bounty, taking in Night Market, or attending a one of the classes I promise you that there will be a lot of food and plenty of drinks. To balance all of this you will need energy and fuel. Yes, I am recommending where you can get food. Fruit and veggies to be precise.
Healthy Eats: Kure + Kiva
Kure has several locations throughout Portland and happens to have a downtown location just one block from Pioneer Square – the hub of Feast! They have plenty of juices and smoothies that can refresh, revive or renew you. They even have hangover specific blends. My personal favorite is the Envy Blend. A smoothie loaded with avocado, coconut and kale. It sounds like a weird combination but it is so filling and always keeps me away from the cookies. It is rich, so get a small!
Kiva is located in NW Portland and is my go-to spot for acai bowls – my favorite is the Royal Bowl. The space is also home to a spa, so the vibes are very tranquil. It is a healthy way to start your day before going full-throttle at Feast.
Sweat It Out: Forest Park + Pure Barre
Taking a hike or run in Forest Park is a great way to get outside, get in some exercise, and still just be 10-minutes from downtown Portland. I especially enjoy the Lower Macleay trail which brings me to the Witch’s Castle!
If you are feeling extra ambitious look no further than Pure Barre in the Pearl District. The classes are spendy ($25) but you will absolutely be pushed to the brink and get in an amazing workout.
Cool Down Drinks: Marmo + Nossa Familia
Marmo has quickly become my favorite new Portland restaurant in 2015!! The stunning space is located in the heart of downtown and serves up great coffees, tasty treats and excellent service. My favorite items are the espresso, bruschetta and prawn + potato salad.
And for my favorite coffee in Portland, look no further than Nossa Familia! I usually keep my coffee orders very simple and let the coffee shine. I love their Japanese iced coffee and dark roast drip with a healthy dollop of their coffee infused whipped cream. You read that right, Coffee. Infused. Whipped. Cream.

#ThursdayToursPDX is a collaborative series between Portland, OR bloggers {Erin} Bakery Bingo + {Meredith} Martha Chartreuse. In a city filled with amazing restaurants, artisan experiences, and fantastic tastemakers the inside scoop is a must. We will be asking our friends and fellow bloggers for their recommendations and tips for all the City of Roses has to offer.

I am obsessed with Barre classes – I go at least twice a week on my lunch break. A perfect way to get through that mid-day slump!
