Summer Favorites {Sabbatical time!}

And I’m off! Wahoo! It seems like forever ago I was planning and scheduling my 6-week break from work, and now here it is.

The agenda includes hiking and camping in Bryce Canyon and Zion in Utah, then hopping on a plane to Europe where I’ll be touring around London (where I’m attempting to rent a stick shift to drive myself around…wish me luck!), Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Rome. Time for a Holiday Tea Party

Despite having just turned 31, I have a lot of child-like interests. Am I overly jazzed about our upcoming trip to Harry Potter World in Orlando? Heck yes, I am. Did Brice just bring me a giant teddy bear that is almost as tall as me? Why yes, he did. Do I also still love getting dressed up and having a tea party? Like girls of any age, of course I do!

I’m spoiled enough to have enjoyed quite the number of teas around the world.

The Connaught in London – This was the quintessential experience in the motherland of tea. I went with my friend Ashley when I went to visit her in London a few years ago. It was like a fairy tale with the traditional teas, beautiful china, and the outstanding spread. It’s Baaaaaack! Portland Dining Month 2015

Ok guys, seriously, how is it almost March already? The past few months since I’ve returned from Asia have been kind of a whirlwind. After close to 10 weeks out of the country and off work, I get asked a lot “how are you adjusting back to normal life?” I laughed that perhaps the recipe for getting back “into the swing of things” is a 1:1 ratio of time gone to time back.

That means I am nearly approaching the mark where I’m feeling settled at home not packing and unpacking every few days, back into the work mindset, and rockin’ and rollin’ with day to day life. My theory, while a joke at first, has seemed plausible. Continue Reading...
