Happy week after Thanksgiving! Hope you all had a great holiday!

We had such a great day and had a wonderful time hosting for the first year.

I got really excited about decorating our place. Especially since my mom lent me all of her Thanksgiving decorations to make everything extra festive, like these amazing turkey napkin holders.

A Portland Food Lover’s Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Hanukkah, early Christmas, belated Thanksgiving and even Happy Festivus!

Despite the rain and gray skies, I totally love the holiday season: all the pretty lights everywhere, cookie exchanges, hot chocolates, scarves and mittens, getting time off work…oh yeah and of course spending time with friends and family too 🙂

I am totally loving the festive #UglySweaterPDX campaign where the statues downtown are dressed up in ugly holiday sweaters!

I’ll admit it though, my dislike is the gift giving.

I am pretty darn awful with gift ideas and it totally stresses me out. I always want to give presents that are thoughtful, personal and something the recipient wouldn’t get themselves. So then I usually fail at coming up with ideas and then give presents a month or two late. Whoops. So, in T-Minus 12 days, I’ll be competing in my first legit Crossfit competition. Yikes. I’m a tad freaked out but in theory it should be a fun time.

I have been doing Crossfit (at CF Pearl District) for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. It is challenging, fun (in a crazy sort of way) and an amazing group of people.

Plus it is a great way to balance out all of the food I eat to make this blog a reality (ok, ok, I would still eat this much regardless of the blog).
