One thing I really love about the Portland culinary scene is how collaborative it is. From Alma Chocolates using Smith Teamaker blends, to popup dinners featuring multiple chefs all over town, you see the support everywhere. But who doesn’t also love seeing a great competition, right? That’s what makes shows like Top Chef so successful and fun to watch. (And side note, am I the only one who totally wishes I could be one of those diners during Restaurant Wars? Someone please tell me how you get that gig.)
Well, this has been one crazy week, hasn’t it?
Election aside (let’s avoid that topic on here, shall we?!), I also managed to get myself sent to urgent care, getting numerous xrays after being a total klutz, tripping while at the gym and landing all my weight on my elbow. Ugh… so this post will be a bit shorter in words, as typing one-handed is shockingly time consuming (as are easy everyday tasks like getting dressed or opening a jar of Talenti ice cream!).
As it has been a bit since my last seasonal “Favorites” post, I’ve got plenty of new hotspots to share! Where have you been this fall? What are you loving?
Here we are, almost half way through the first month of 2016. Eesh, how’d that happen?! Didn’t 2015 just fly by?
It was fun digging through photos and posts from this past year. From a non-food perspective, lots of domestic travels to Victoria, Boise and a girls trip to Southern Oregon topped the list in 2015, as did summiting Mt St Helens, my brother visiting Portland for the first time in years, lots of wine tasting, and competing in a team Crossift competition.
Bakery Bingo turned 4 in 2015 and what a year. I am so thrilled I got to be a photographer for Feast Portland again, participate in several amazing blogger events, be a guest on two episodes of the Right at the Fork podcast, and start up #ThursdayToursPDX with Meredith.
